Canton Library To Host Program On LGBTQ+ History In CT

CANTON, CT — The Canton Public Library will host a presentation on the history of LGBTQ+ communities in Connecticut next week as part of its educational programming during Pride Month.

The program, titled "A History of LGBTQ+ in Connecticut," will be presented by the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History on Tuesday, June 16, at 6:30 p.m.

According to the library, the presentation will explore the history of LGBTQ+ individuals and communities in Connecticut and highlight significant events, movements and contributions that have shaped the state's history.

The Connecticut Museum of Culture and History, based in Hartford, is known for its public programs that examine Connecticut's past through historical documents, artifacts and personal stories.

Library officials encouraged residents interested in local and state history to attend, noting the museum's reputation for presenting historical topics in an engaging and accessible format.
