Canton To Have Emergency Shelter Training This Weekend

CANTON, CT — The Town of Canton's Emergency Management Department and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will conduct a sheltering training exercise on Saturday, June 27, at the Canton Community Center.

The exercise is scheduled to run from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is intended to put into practice the town's Human Emergency Sheltering Plan, which was developed by the CERT team as part of Canton’s emergency preparedness efforts.

Town officials emphasized that the event is only a training exercise and is not a response to any current emergency or specific incident.
