CANTON, CT — Canton dogs will get a chance to take over Mills Pond Pool for an end-of-summer swim next week.
Canton Parks & Recreation's Pooch Plunge is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 17, at Mills Pond Pool, 14 East Hill Road.
The event will feature two swim sessions. The first runs from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m., followed by a second session from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m.
Admission is $15 per dog, with proceeds benefiting the Canton Dog Park.
Dogs must wear a collar with their name and current license and have proof of rabies vaccination, according to event guidelines.
Aggressive dogs, sick dogs, and female dogs in heat are not permitted.
Dogs must remain leashed while entering and leaving the facility and must be accompanied by an adult. Each adult may bring no more than two dogs.
People will not be allowed in the pool during the event.
Owners are also asked to leave personal dog toys at home. Tennis balls will be provided.
Dog owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets and are liable for injuries or damage caused by their dogs, according to Canton Parks & Recreation.
