CANTON, CT — Motorists traveling through downtown Collinsville should prepare for several weeks of traffic changes beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8, as Connecticut Water launches a water main replacement project on Main Street.
The work will be completed in three phases, with lane restrictions and road closures beginning Sept. 8 and continuing for several weeks, according to the Town of Canton.
Businesses along Main Street will remain open and accessible throughout the project.
Canton police will be on site to direct traffic, and motorists are encouraged to use River Street as an alternate route.

Officials said Main Street will reopen to vehicle traffic at the end of each workday during the third phase.
The town is advising drivers to use River Street to reach Main Street and avoid delays during construction.
