CANTON, CT — The Canton Police Department will hold a coin drop fundraiser Thursday afternoon to raise money for Special Olympics Connecticut.
Police officers will collect donations from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, in front of the entrance to The Shops at Farmington Valley in Canton.
The fundraiser is being held in support of Special Olympics Connecticut and the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
"Every coin, dollar, and donation makes a difference," the department said in announcing the event.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run brings together law enforcement agencies to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics programs and athletes.
Canton police encouraged residents who are in the area Thursday afternoon to stop by, meet participating officers, and make a donation.
"Thank you for your continued support of Special Olympics Connecticut and the Law Enforcement Torch Run," the department said
