• Canton To Host Forum On Emergency Preparations (patch.com) — Canton residents are invited to a free emergency preparedness forum on Monday, Sept. 15, at the Canton Community Center in Collinsville. Local emergency officials and the Canton CERT team will explain how to prepare households for disasters, outline available town services, and answer questions, while also sharing how residents can get involved with CERT training year-round.
   

• Coventry girls soccer defeats Windsor Locks/East Granby in home opener 2-0 (thechronicle.com) — Coventry's girls soccer team has opened the season 2-0 and now heads to face the Canton Warriors on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. After edging Somers and shutting out Windsor Locks/East Granby, Coventry will try to extend its strong start in Canton's home matchup.
