Canton School Arts Group Plans 'Night Out' Fundraiser

Canton Friends for the Arts will host its annual Night Out benefit on Sept. 25 with music, food trucks, and raffles to support school arts.

CANTON, CT —Canton Friends for the Arts will bring residents together for an evening of music, food, and raffles this week while raising money to support arts programs in the town's public schools.

The organization's annual "Night Out for the Arts" fundraiser will be held Friday, Sept. 25, beginning at 6 p.m. at Brewery Legitimus, 283 Main St., in New Hartford.

Admission is $10 at the door, payable by cash or Venmo. The event is limited to people age 21 and older.

Canton Friends for the Arts is a volunteer-run nonprofit booster organization that supports visual, musical, and dramatic arts programs across Canton Public Schools.

The evening will include music and dancing, food trucks, beer and cocktails, and raffle prizes donated by area businesses. Raffle drawings are scheduled for 7 and 8 p.m., and winners must be present.

Money raised by Canton Friends for the Arts is used to support arts education and activities in Canton Public Schools.

The organization said its funding has helped provide college scholarships, guest artists, equipment, and special events.

Recent purchases have included a kiln for Cherry Brook Primary School and a new soundboard for Canton middle and high schools.

The group has also supported student activities and programs, including scholarships and T-shirts for a Disney trip, PRISMS and concerts.

Canton Friends for the Arts is also seeking volunteers to help with the event.

Those who volunteer for a 30-minute shift will receive free admission, according to organizers.
