CANTON, CT — The price at the one Canton station with a current report is running above the state average this week as the Connecticut average slipped slightly from a week ago, according to AAA and the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
The average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in Connecticut was $4.45 on Tuesday, according to AAA.
That is down about 4 cents from $4.49 a week ago but up about 13 cents from $4.32 a month ago.
Compared with a year ago, when the state average was $3.12, drivers are paying about $1.33 more per gallon.
The Connecticut average is about 9 cents higher than the national average of $4.35 a gallon for regular gasoline, according to the latest weekly data from the EIA, released Tuesday and reflecting prices as of Monday.
The national average fell about 11 cents from $4.47 the previous week.
The EIA does not track Connecticut prices individually. It reports them as part of its New England region, where regular gasoline averaged $4.34 a gallon as of Monday, down about 3 cents from the week before.
In Canton, the one station with a current price report listed $4.65 a gallon for regular.
That is about 20 cents above the Connecticut average from AAA, about 31 cents above the New England average from the EIA and about 30 cents above the national average.
