CANTON, CT — A restaurant specializing in ramen, house-made soup dumplings and Asian-inspired dishes is opening at The Shops at Farmington Valley in Canton later this month.
Ramen + Bao will open its third Connecticut location Saturday, Nov. 14, with a grand opening celebration scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The restaurant will be located in Lowell Court, across from Blo Blow Dry Bar, at the open-air shopping center along Route 44.
The menu will feature signature ramen dishes, bao and house-made soup dumplings, along with scallion pancakes, Taiwanese fried chicken, fried rice and spring rolls.
The restaurant is designed to offer customers a casual setting for lunch, dinner and gatherings with friends and family.
"Ramen + Bao gives our guests a new reason to linger. A bowl of broth that has simmered for hours, shared across the table with people you love, turns a shopping trip into something you look forward to," said Elizabeth Ackerman, general manager of The Shops at Farmington Valley.
"We're thrilled to welcome a Connecticut favorite to The Shops at Farmington Valley, and we can't wait to see it become a go-to gathering spot for the neighborhood," Ackerman said.
Jinbing Lin, owner of Ramen + Bao, said the restaurant aims to combine traditional flavors with a welcoming dining experience.
"Food has a way of bringing people together, and we want every guest who walks through our doors to feel welcome," Lin said.
"We've put a lot of thought into creating a menu that balances the flavors and traditions we love with a relaxed, approachable dining experience. We're excited to become part of the Farmington Valley community and share that with our guests," Lin said.
Grand Opening Celebration Planned
The Nov. 14 grand opening will feature family-friendly activities and giveaways.
Visitors can expect a balloon artist for children and complimentary boba tea samples.
The Shops at Farmington Valley will also set up its Ski Sundown gondola and an outdoor fire pit outside the restaurant, creating an après-ski atmosphere for the celebration.
The addition of Ramen + Bao expands the shopping center's restaurant offerings, which already include Shake Shack, Sweetgreen and Mercato Italian Kitchen and Bar.
The Shops at Farmington Valley features more than 45 stores and eateries, including Barnes & Noble, Sephora, Warby Parker, Sur La Table and other retailers.
