CANTON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• Eastern's annual graduation ceremony was held at the XL Center in Hartford on May 15, with more than 12,000 family members and friends cheering on their sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, as 1,105 undergraduates and 85 graduate students received their diplomas. Graduates from Canton were: Alexia Bohnenkamper, Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Earth Science; Lillian Hyde, Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology; and Emily Chouinard, Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.

Wheaton College, Wheaton IL

• Wheaton College student Emily Guersch of Collinsville was named to the spring 2018 Dean's List. Dean's List honors are earned by undergraduate students who carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on the 4.0 scale.
