CANTON, CT — A fire in a Canton home was quickly contained Wednesday evening, according to local fire officials.

On March 25, crews from the Town of Canton Fire & EMS responded to Christmas Tree Hill Road following a report of a structure fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed an active attic fire, fire officials said.

Officials said the blaze was “rapidly brought under control” due to the quick actions of responding crews.

No additional details about injuries or damage were immediately released.

Units dispatched included Car 1, Car 2, Ladder 2, Engine 3, Engine 4, Tanker 7, Utility 8, Utility 9, Car 10, and the Canton Fire Marshal’s Office.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Canton Fire Marshal’s Office.

Officials also acknowledged mutual aid partners for assisting at the scene and covering stations during the response.
