BURLINGTON, CT — A bear killed five goats at a Burlington farm Sunday. The bear managed to climb over six-foot kennels to get to the goats at Grazin' Goats Farm.
The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection confirmed the incident and a trap is being set up for the bear, according to the farm's Facebook page.
The names of the goats killed are Inky, Ginger, Stitch, Junior and Frost.

It isn't the first time a bear has killed livestock in Connecticut. A Prospect man scared off a bear in 2018 by firing his shotgun in the direction of the bear, but a goat was injured and later died, according to the New Haven Register.
A bear was killed in 2017 after it attacked two miniature horses in Southbury.

Burlington had 273 bear sightings between May 1, 2018 and April 14, 2019.
