Beloved Canton Library Staffer Honored With Outdoor Memorial

CANTON, CT — The Canton Public Library has dedicated an outdoor seating area in honor of a beloved library employee and board member.

The library, located at 40 Dyer Ave., announced Friday a dedication ceremony took place to honor the late Nancy Donoghue.

"Nancy was a beloved member of our library staff for many years and served on the Library Board of Trustees following her retirement," wrote the library July 5.

"She was also a volunteer with many town organizations, including (but certainly not limited to) the Canton Arts Council and the League of Women Voters."Libr

Library officials thanked the Canton Lions Club, the Friends of the Canton Public Library, the Department of Public Works, the Cherry Brook Garden Club, and the Canton Greater Together Community Fund of the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving for helping create the are

"Most of all, we are grateful to the Donoghue family for choosing the library as the location for this permanent memorial to Nancy," wrote the library.
