WATCH: Beloved Canton Policeman Signs Off For Last Time
After 33 years in law enforcement, 23 serving the Town of Canton, a beloved member of the department retired over the weekend.

CANTON, CT — Around the Canton Police Department, Mark Montefalco was simply known as "Monte" and for 33 years, 23 in Canton, he has made law enforcement his avocation.
That career ended over the weekend when Montefalco signed off for the last time, heading into the sunset of retirement.
The CPD posted footage of Montefalco signing off for the last time late last week.

"Today marks the end of an era…. After 23 years of service with the Town of Canton Police Department, and a total of 33 years of service in Connecticut law enforcement, we must wish Officer Mark Montefalco a healthy and happy retirement," wrote the CPD.
Montefalco's colleagues wished him well.

"You have served your law enforcement family and the citizens of Canton well," wrote the department. "Thank you for being such a positive mentor to so many, it has truly been an honor to work with you."
