After School Program for Grades 1 - 3 A Fun Place for Kids to Learn and Play

Canton Connections . . . . an exciting after school program (established in Fall 1997), which provides a safe and welcoming environment for children in grades 1 – 3, is currently holding open registration for Session 2 which runs from December 3, 2014 through February 5, 2015. Canton Connections is “a place to be, a place to learn, a place to grow, a place to make friends and be a friend, a place to build confidence in you!” The program is in session, two days a week, Wednesdays and Thursdays (children may attend both days or one day), at Trinity Episcopal Church, River Road, (school bus brings children from Cherry Brook School) from 3:45 – 5:45 p.m. The program is staffed by trained adult volunteers and teen mentors who work with the children in small groups developing social skills, problem solving strategies and building self-esteem.
So come play with us! Our program includes outdoor recreation, indoor games, arts and crafts, special project of the week and creative play. Outdoor fun includes softball, kick ball, soccer, four square and scavenger hunts. Indoor activities include balloon volleyball, guessing games, cooking and bead sequencing. There is always time set aside for the children to work on their homework with help if needed, from teen mentors.
Registration forms may be accessed on our website: www.cantonconnections.org and should be submitted prior to November 25, 2014. If you do not have access to a computer, a form is available at the Cherry Brook School office.
