The new equipment replaces the department's existing Scott SCBA packs, which are 24 years old, as well as all our SCBA bottles that are reaching their 15-year NFPA replacement cycle.
"The air packs are currently being labeled, and training will take place in the coming weeks to ensure these critical pieces of equipment are placed into service as quickly and safely as possible," wrote the department.
The Town of Canton Fire and EMS Department thanked the many individuals who worked tirelessly on this project over the past eight years.
Special thanks were given to department members, the Canton Board of Selectmen, Chief Administrative Officer Mark Penney, Canton Finance Officer Zoe Peak, and MES Salesman Brian Chapman for helping bring this important project to completion.
"Together, these upgrades ensure our firefighters are better protected and better prepared to serve our community," wrote the department.
