Canton Fire Resurrects Cadet Program

CANTON, CT — The local fire department has resurrected its cadet program, providing younger teen residents with a clear path toward full volunteer status when they get older.

The Town of Canton Fire & EMS recently began a reboot of its cadet program, it said Tuesday.

"We are excited to share this opportunity for young people in our community," wrote the department.

"This vital program not only gives young people the ability to gain real-life experience in emergency services, but also to make new friends, learn new skills, and make a positive impact on their community."
