Canton High School To Stage 'Freaky Friday: The Musical' This Week

CANTON, CT — Students at Canton High School will present three performances of "Freaky Friday: The Musical" this week in the school auditorium, highlighting the town’s student theater program.
Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 7 p.m., Friday, March 13, 7 p.m., and a 2 p.m. matinee Saturday, March 14.
The production is performed by Canton High School students as part of the school’s annual musical theater program. The performances will be at the school, which is at 76 Simonds Ave., Canton.

The show is a stage adaptation of the 1972 novel by Mary Rodgers and later Disney film adaptations.
The story follows a mother and her teenage daughter who magically switch bodies and must navigate each other’s daily lives while trying to reverse the swap.

Through the experience, the two characters gain a deeper understanding of each other’s challenges and develop renewed appreciation for their relationship.
Canton High School’s musical theater productions are supported by Canton Friends for the Arts, which helps promote and sustain student arts programming in the district.
School officials say the program aims to showcase student talent in acting, singing, and stage production while bringing the community together for a local performing arts event.
