CANTON, CT — The town this Saturday is hosting a very special event to honor a beloved community servant who died earlier this year.

David Leff served many roles for Canton, including time as town historian, town meeting moderator and poet laureate. Leff, who also was an environmental poet, lecturer and author, died unexpectedly in May.

This Saturday, Oct. 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. at 40 Dyer Ave., home of the town's parks and recreation department, folks will gather to honor Leff with an "afternoon of poetry and music in memory of our great friend, the late David Leff," wrote the town via social media.
