Canton HS Basketball: 2 Teams, 2 Tournaments, Same Day, Same Tip-Off Time

CANTON, CT — Both Warriors varsity basketball teams will begin play in the CIAC State Tournament on Saturday evening, with the girls and boys teams each scheduled for 6 p.m. tipoffs at separate sites.

The girls' varsity team will host Tolland at Canton High School, 4 Market St., Canton, in a first-round matchup scheduled for 6 p.m.

At the same time, the boys' varsity team will travel to Northwestern Regional High School in Winsted to face Northwestern Regional in its opening-round game.

Because the games are part of the CIAC State Tournament, all tickets must be purchased online through GoFan. Cash will not be accepted at the gate.

School officials advised fans to expect larger-than-usual crowds and recommended arriving 20 to 30 minutes early to allow time for entry.

Spectators are also asked to have their digital GoFan tickets ready on their phones before reaching the front of the line to help keep entry moving smoothly.

The winners of Saturday’s games will advance in the CIAC state tournament bracket.
