Canton Library August Announcements

Book sale donations sought, summer hours announcement and more.

From Canton Public Library:

Donations for September Book Sale: Saturday, August 23, is the final day donations will be accepted for The Friends of the Canton Public Library’s Fall Book Sale scheduled for September 6 and 7. Donations, which must be in good condition, include books, music CD’s, recorded books, and DVD’s and may be brought to the library during regular hours: Monday-Thursday 10:00 AM-8:00 PM, Friday 10:00 AM-5:00 PM, and Saturday 10:00 AM-1:00 PM.

Summer Saturday Library Hours: Summertime Saturday hours at Canton Public Library are from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM through August 23. The following Saturday, August 30, the library will be closed and will remain closed for the entire Labor Day weekend, August 30 through Monday, September 1. This is the only Saturday in the entire year that the library is closed. Regular Saturday hours of 10 AM - 5 PM return on Saturday, September 6.

Planning To Improve Your Library: The Library Board of Trustees is currently working on a new three-year plan based on the results of the recent community survey and wants to thank all who provided input. The new plan will set forth the library’s goals and special projects for the next three years, through 2017. Stay tuned for announcements about upcoming new library projects.

Technical Help: How to Use ‘Encore’, the New Library Catalog: Library patrons who may be finding the new online library catalog obscure or uncooperative will find help on the way in August. The Canton Public Library is offering two sessions on how to operate Encore, the new public library catalog used by Canton and other area towns. On August 12th at 6:30 PM and August 13th at 1:00 PM in the Canton Community Center patrons will learn how to renew materials, place holds, pay bills, save one’s reading history, search, and much more.
