How To Help Canton Neighbors This Holiday Season
The Town of Canton's 2023 toy and gift card drive ends Friday, Dec. 1, with local responders hosting two separate events Saturday, Dec. 2.

CANTON, CT — The Town of Canton is offering several ways folks can help their neighbors who may be struggling this holiday season.
Called "Gifts for Canton," the annual holiday toy and gift card drive actually started on Nov. 1 and continues to Dec. 1, with a Canton Police Department and local responders hosting special events slated for Saturday, Dec. 2.
The town is seeking retail gift cards, cash and checks as well as toys that will go to the town, which will later distribute them to needy families later next month.

Toys are seek as being good for children up to age 12, with teens best benefitting from gift cards/cash donations, according to event organizers.
The first part of this initiative is taking place at Canton Senior & Social Services, 40 Dyer Ave., and Canton Town Hall at 4 Market St.

Donations are being collected there through Friday, Dec. 1.
Meanwhile, the Canton Police Department is hosting a "Stock the Cruiser" toy drive at The Shops at Farmington Valley, 110 Albany Turnpike, Canton, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2.
On that same day, the Canton Emergency Response Team will be collecting items and donations at Ocean State Job Lot, 133 River Road, at the same time.
