Canton Obituary: Albert Gray, 63

Condolences to his family and friends.

Albert Earle Gray, 63, of Canton, beloved husband of Bonnie (Wietrak) Gray, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016.

He was born July 10, 1952 in Hartford, son of the late Albert Gregory and Eunice (Nichols) Gray and had lived in West Haven prior to moving to Canton over 35 years ago. Mr. Gray was a Project Manager for RM Bradley in Hartford for many years. He loved the beach, traveling the world, cars, motorcycles and autocrossing with his sons.

Al loved music and theatre. He spent time performing with the Simsbury Light Opera as a young man. Al loved reminiscing about growing up near Savin Rock Amusement Park in West Haven. He was an avid fan of the Men's and Women's UConn Basketball teams. His excitement for the Celtics was contagious when the Boston's Big Three won the NBA championship.

Besides his loving wife of 28 years, he is survived by his three sons, Michael Hughes and his wife Megan of Tariffville, Sean Hughes of Canton and Albert J. Gray of Canton; his sister, Eileen Coates and her husband Eric of Omaha, NE; his aunt Dr. Mary Gray of Peabody, MA; his mother-in-law Helen Wietrak of Rocky Hill; his brothers-in-law, Robert Wietrak of New York City and James Wietrak and his wife Jackie of Naples, FL as well as his nieces.

Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton on Saturday, April 23rd from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A memorial service will be celebrated on Sunday, April 24th at the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in South West Cemetery in Collinsville.
