
Aneysa (Abalan) Shaffer Bristol, 92, of Burlington, widow of Francis E. Bristol, passed peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, February 20th. She is now resting and happy with the Lord. She could not wait to meet her God in Heaven face to face.
Born in Harford, Connecticut on October 27, 1923, daughter of the late George and Hazel (Pierce) Abalan. Aneysa and her family operated Shaffer Luncheonette in Collinsville. She was formerly employed by The Hartford Insurance Group for 15 years. Aneysa was a strong active member of the Congregational Church in Burlington, a member of the choir and served on the music committee. She was a member of the Farmington Valley Chorale. She most enjoyed music, arts and crafts, gardening and writing poetry but most of all her large loving family.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Marjorie Shaffer of Burlington, her daughter Barbara Shaffer-Bengston of Burlington, her grandchildren, Lisa and her husband, Ben, Dale and her husband, James, Aneysa and her husband, Keith, Sherry and her husband, Bob, Scott and his wife, Vicki, her great-grandchildren, Devin, Isabella, Alisha, David, Guy and his wife, Midge, Pierce, Larissa, Bethany, Zachary, Emma and Kaela, and her great great-grandchildren, Robby and Delilah, her adopted grandchildren, Nicholas, James and Gavin, her brother-in-law, Kenneth and her sister-in-law, Rinette. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Virginia, Gloria and Louise, her brothers, Benjamin, Roger, Charlie, George, Jr. and Robert and beloved granddaughter, Melanie, her step-father, Jacob Stark and her first husband, Harry I. Shaffer.

Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main Street, Rt. 4, Unionville on Thursday (February 25th) from 5:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday (February 26th) at 11:00 AM in the Congregational Church of Burlington, Route 4, Burlington with the Reverend Wendell Taylor officiating.
