
B. Dante “Vince” D’Addeo was reunited with his beloved wife, Roberta, on Friday, April 21.
Born in 1925, the first son of Joseph and Maria (Verre) D’Addeo, Vince was a graduate of the Bloomfield school system and attended Trinity College – where he was a member of the Half Century Club, Vice President of his class and a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity, and the University of Hartford – where he was honored as a Golden Eagle. Vince was employed as a Senior Buyer by the Emhart Corporation, where he also met and married his wife of 46 years, Roberta (Meconkey).
Active in the Town of Canton, Vince was a Board Member of the Canton Visiting Nurse Association and Canton Public Library, Member of the Canton Republican Town Committee and the Board of Finance. Vince was an enthusiastic participant in both local and state politics and took part in numerous nominating conventions and campaigns, including those of Lewis B. Rome, Lowell P. Weicker, Jr., Reginald Smith, and Jim Fleming.

Following his retirement, Vince pursued his second passion in the field of real estate as owner of Metacomet Real Estate, enjoyed UConn Women’s Basketball games and attending their numerous ‘victory’ parades, and being a member of the Prince Thomas of Savoy Italian Club in Avon where he was encouraged on the Bocce Court and looked forward to their monthly dinners and summer picnic. Vince will always be remembered as a generous man who supported numerous charities and as a storyteller extraordinaire.
His legacy lives on in his son, David J. D’Addeo (Kathleen) and daughter Lisa D. Bohman (William). He also leaves two sisters, Lucia Harrison and Catherine Williams, a step granddaughter Summer Rogers (Phillip), step great grandchildren Zachary and Kaitlyn, his granddogs Lucy, Edward and Sweetie, along with many nieces and nephews and cherished friends, especially his long time loyal friend Michael Michnowski. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Roberta, and brothers Jerome and Donald D’Addeo.

Family and friends may gather on Friday, May 12, 9 a.m. at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main Street, Route 4, Unionville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 a.m., St. Patrick Church, 50 Church Street, Collinsville. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
