
June E. Rhodes departed this world on October 26th after a brief illness and a long life of robust good health.
She was born in Hartford on May 19, 1927, the daughter of Louis Ehrhardt and Charlotte Barrows Ehrhardt. She grew up in Hartford and Canton, the second oldest of nine children.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Dunne and son-in-law Edward P. Dunne, III, of Unionville, and three grandchildren, Edward P. Dunne IV and his wife Lori, Allison Carlson and her husband Michael, and Kristen Dunne and her fiancée Andy Marek. She was predeceased by her beloved son Steven Wojtilla and is survived by his wife Patricia and her children Melanie Westerberg and Michael Milliken. She enjoyed marriage and was predeceased by husbands Joseph Wojtilla, Mark Rhodes, and Herbert Gewehr. June was predeceased by seven siblings, Louis Ehrhardt, Dorothy Rennie, Joyce Wojtilla, Donald Ehrhardt, Warren Ehrhardt, Ralph Ehrhardt, and Steven Ehrhardt. She is survived by her brother Kenneth Ehrhardt, her sister-in-law Marilyn Ehrhardt and her devoted nephew Kevin Rennie.

June attended Canton High School. Her first job was as a telephone operator. She proved herself, as she would throughout her life, a calm and competent presence when she found herself on duty on July 6, 1944, the day of the Hartford circus fire.
She and Joe raised their two children in Unionville while taking care of a variety of relations as their needs arose and required. She enjoyed music and the sun, and was a talented dancer. Wisdom and candor were her constant companions.

A celebration of June’s loving life will be held pending the birth of her first great granddaughter.
