Canton Obituary: Kelsey Boman, 24

Condolences to her family and friends.

Kelsey Swan Boman, 24, of Canton, died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 31, 2015.

She was born July 20, 1991 in New Britain. Kelsey was the beloved daughter of Craig Ross and Sandra (Swan) Boman of Canton. Kelsey had attended Central Connecticut State University, and was a waitress and bartender at several area restaurants in the Farmington Valley. Most recently, at the First and Last Tavern of Avon and Little City Pizza of Simsbury. She was a member of the Collinsville Congregational Church and the Valley Community Baptist Church.

Kelsey also loved going to the Flamig Farm Camp as, first, a camper, and later, a Head Counselor. She also volunteered for their annual Haunted Halloween Hayride. She loved ballroom dancing, and was a member of the Hartford Youth Dance Initiative (HYDI). Her most recent adventure was with the Language Learning Corp where she journeyed to Cambodia and taught Kindergarten at the Korean Orphanage during the 2013-2014 school year. Her favorite past-times included knitting, reading, drawing, watching food network and playing board games.

Besides her loving parents, Kelsey is survived by her five siblings: Trevor Swan Boman and his girlfriend Kelsey Hill of Avon, Connor Swan Boman, Hunter Swan Boman, Tucker Swan Boman and Gracey Swan Boman, all of Canton. Her maternal grandparents are Charles R Swan (deceased) and Annette (Mailhot) Swan of Niantic, and paternal grandparents Albert M Boman (deceased) and Audrey (Morrill) Boman (deceased) of Deerbrook WI. There are many aunts, uncles, and cousins scattered throughout the United Sates.

Calling hours will be held at the Collinsville Congregational Church 7 South Street in Collinsville on Friday January 8th from 3:00-5:00 closing with a Memorial Service at 5:00 PM.
