
Kenneth P. Follert Jr., 84, of Avon, died peacefully January 8, 2017, in his home in Florida.
Born in Hartford, son of the late Kenneth and Sophie Ann (Albrycht) Follert Sr., he was a graduate of Canton High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a medic. He proudly served the Farmington Valley for 43 years as a Prudential agent.
Playing guitar was his passion. He began his music career in his teens with his brother Ed on WLCR Radio Torrington for the Saturday morning Ken and Ed Show. Later, he and his brother started the band, Twilight Trio, playing weddings, retirements and special events bringing joy to so many through their music.

He enjoyed many years with his family and friends at his chalet in Vermont and enjoyed his retirement years summering at his lake house in Maine and wintering in Florida. His family meant everything to him.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years Elizabeth "Bun" (Donaldson) Follert, his 5 sons and daughter in laws, James and Katie, Gary and JoAnn, Keith and Lynne, Mark and Tricia, Todd and Cheryl, and his daughter Brenda Miller and her husband Richard. He will be sorely missed by his 11 grandchildren Heather, Jesse, Jason, Nicole, Jonathan, Matthew, Meghan, Michael, Carla, Forrest, and Brittni; and 2 great grandchildren, Anthony, and Keira. He was the spirit of Christmas, our Santa Claus.

A celebration of his life will be held in the spring at the Carmon Funeral Home of Avon.
