Loftus W. Day Jr., (Buddy), 82, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2016 at UConn. He was born in Unionville, April 19, 1934 to Loftus William Day and Katherine Haberen. He was predeceased by his wife of 50+ years Catherine McCahill Day, brother Richard and granddaughter Elizabeth Day. He is survived by his daughter Debora &amp; Charles Huntley of Bristol, daughter Cheryl Dzis of Canton, son James &amp; Joni Day of Canton, daughter Lori &amp;Phil Ouimette of Unionville, daughter Tracey &amp; Robert Chappell of Avon, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several nieces &amp; nephews, many, many friends and also his beloved cat. There will be a gathering of family &amp; friends to celebrate the lives of both Buddy &amp; Cathy Day on Sunday November 27 2016 from 1-4 pm at The Canton Street Firehouse Canton Springs Rd., Canton.
