Mary F. (Shepard) Schianca, 84, of Canton, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Avon Health Center. She was born February 8, 1933 in St. Albans, VT, daughter of the late Leonard and Frances (Trombley) Shepard. Mary was a Registered Nurse for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Avon and the Canton Senior Center. Mary enjoyed cooking, painting, knitting and crafts and had loved to collect all of the craft paint, brushes and fabrics possible. She is survived by her four children, Renee Bryant and her husband Tom of Avon, Gary Pomper and his wife Jane of Jacksonville, FL, Robin Pomper of Avon and David Pomper of Cary, NC; her grandchildren, Jason Pomper, Kevin Pomper, Jacob Bryant, Hannah Bryant, Lauren Barber-Bryant and Logan Pomper and two brothers, Bradford Shepard and Mark Shepard . She was predeceased by her first husband, Donald C. Pomper and her second husband, Joseph Schianca. A memorial service will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 5th at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton.
