
Pauline M. (Zappulla) Fazzino, 100, of Canton and formerly of Torrington, beloved wife of the late Salvatore L. “Sam” Fazzino, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Cherry Brook Health Care Center, Canton with her loving family by her side.
Born in Hartford on May 5, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Sebastiana “Anna” (Bramande) Zappulla. She attended the Brown School until eighth grade when she began to work at Worth’s Department
Store to help supplement the family income for her five brothers, sister and parents during the Great Depression. She also attended one year of Morse Business College while working.
On June 29, 1935, at age 19, she married Salvatore L. Fazzino. During WWII, Pauline worked at Underwood in the war effort. When Sam returned from the War, she had her two children, Robert and Judith, and helped run the family business. She enjoyed making ceramics, painting, crocheting and baking for her family and friends.

After the death of her husband in 1967, Pauline began working in the life accounting department for Travelers Insurance Company, from which she retired 11 years later. In 1983, she moved to Torrington to be closer to her daughter until age 95 when she began residency at Cherry Brook Health Care Center in Canton.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Pauline will be dearly missed by her son, Robert A. Fazzino and wife Rita of Wethersfield; her daughter, Judith Lee Boisclair and husbandKenneth of Canton; four adored granddaughters, Dawn, Heather, Tricia and Amanda and three cherished great-grandchildren, Emily, Donovan and Caelyn. She is also survived by two brothers, Joseph Zappulla of Windsor Locks and George Zappulla and wife Joanne of Ashford, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Sebastian, Carmelo and Angelo Zappulla and her sister, Sally Alfano.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday (July 11) at 11a.m. at St. Luke’s Church, 66 Bolton Street, Hartford. The burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours are prior to the Mass on Monday morning, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
