Canton Offers Free Scrap Metal Collection For Residents
The program starts on Thursday, June 1.

CANTON, CT — If you have any heavy metal you're looking to get rid of, head on over to the Canton Transfer Station.
Just leave those "Ratt," "Poison" and "Motley Crue" records home however.
The Town of Canton this week announced that starting on Thursday, June 1, scrap metal will be free to unload at the transfer facility, located on Ramp Road, for all Canton residents only.

According to the town's public works department, no permit or token is required to dump your scrap metal.
Examples of what is being collected include: aluminum; copper; brass' lead; steel electrical wires; cast iron; steel; and "white goods," which are identified as appliances without freon.

The program starts Thursday June 1, with follow up dates being Tuesdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
