Canton Opens Nominations For 2026 Teacher Of The Year

CANTON, CT — Canton Public Schools is accepting nominations for its 2026 Teacher of the Year award, inviting students, families, and community members in Canton to recognize outstanding educators in the district.

District officials said nominations must be submitted by Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 2 p.m.

The annual recognition honors a teacher who has demonstrated excellence in the classroom and made a significant impact on students and the school community.

Officials noted that teachers who have previously received the Teacher of the Year award are not eligible to be nominated again.

The district has published a list of past recipients so nominators can confirm eligibility before submitting a name.

Community members can nominate a teacher by completing the district’s online nomination form or submitting a Word or PDF version of the form.
