Canton PD Special Olympics Fundraiser Was Wildly Successful

The CPD hosted a 'coin drop' event at The Shoppes of Farmington Valley in Canton to raise money for Connecticut Special Olympics.

CANTON, CT — Local police over the weekend reported a wildly successful Special Olympics fundraising drive near one of the town's shopping hotspots.

Volunteers with the Canton Police Department took part in a "Coin Drop" event at The Shops at Farmington Valley.

There, they were stationed nearby to ask for folks' spare change and the public came out in full force to help, according to the CPD, raising about $5,500 to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut.
