Canton Police Charge Man, 73, With Sexual Assault
An alleged incident in mid-December led to an investigation which culminated in a man's arrest last week.

CANTON, CT — A West Hartford man was arrested last week after a two-month investigation into an alleged sex offense.
Joseph Sterling, 73, was charged July 7 with risk of injury to a minor and fourth-degree sexual assault. He was released on a $10,000 nonsurety bond, and is scheduled to appear in Hartford Superior Court July 20.
A statement from Capt. Lawrence Terra indicated on May 13, the Canton Police Department received a referral from the State of Connecticut Department of Children and Families regarding the sex offense allegations. The incident is alleged to have taken place in mid-December 2016.
