Canton Police Make Arrest in Hit and Run

Canton police arrested the driver accused of hitting a pedestrian Tuesday evening in front of Canton High School and then and then fleeing the scene, WFSB reports. Joshua Lacomb, 26, of New Hartford, was charged with evading responsibility.

Police said the crash occured on Simonds Ave. at about 9:00 p.m. Tuesday. The 32-year-old victim had to be flown by LifeStar helicopter to Hartford Hospital. Simonds Ave. was closed Tuesday evening so investigators could determine the cause of the accident.

Police received an eyewitness report who described the vehicle and the driver. This led police to the Lacomb’s Main Street home in New Hartford.
