Canton Public Library Taste Test Determines Favorite 'Godfish' Snack

More than 120 participants sampled 13 Goldfish flavors at the Canton Public Library, with one clear winner earning the most votes.

CANTON, CT — The people have spoken, the votes have been made, and a major decision was finalized i Canton last week.

The big choice? Salt & Vinegar Goldfish Crisps emerged as the favorite flavor during a recent Goldfish cracker taste test at the Canton Public Library.

The library invited visitors to sample 13 different Pepperidge Farm Goldfish varieties during the event on July 6, with 121 participants—most of them children—casting votes for their favorite.

When the votes were counted, Salt & Vinegar Crisps finished first with 22 votes, well ahead of the rest of the field.

  • Cinnamon Roll
  • Vanilla Cupcake

The remaining results were:

  • Zesty Ranch — 10 votes
  • Strawberry Shortcake — 7.5 votes
  • Pizza — 7 votes
  • Pretzel — 6.5 votes
  • Original — 5 votes
  • Harry Potter Butterbeer — 5 votes
  • Cheddar — 4 votes
  • Baby — 4 votes
  • Old Bay — 3 votes

According to the library, five participants couldn't decide on a favorite, bringing the total number of tasters to 121.

Sharing the results on social media, the Canton Public Library noted that Salt & Vinegar Crisps became the community's "clear favorite," while Frank's RedHot, Cinnamon Roll and the early frontrunner, Vanilla Cupcake, finished in a three-way tie for second place.
