Canton Parks and Recreation is bringing back its Flex Pass fitness program, with all eligible classes free the week of Sept. 7.

CANTON, CT — Canton residents looking to try a new workout will have a chance to sample a slate of fitness classes for free as Canton Parks and Recreation brings back its Flex Pass program.

The department announced that all "Flex Pass" classes will be free during the week of Sept. 7, giving participants an opportunity to try the program before purchasing a pass.

Pre-registration is required through this link.

The Fitness Flex Pass is designed to give participants more control over their workout schedules rather than requiring them to commit to one class for an entire session.

Participants purchase a 10-class Flex Pass and can then select eligible classes and dates that fit their schedules.

After using all 10 visits, participants can purchase another pass.

The current Flex Pass schedule includes:

  • Fit & Play: Tuesdays at 9:20 a.m. The class allows parents and caregivers to exercise while young children play and socialize.
  • Movement Express: Tuesdays at 6 p.m. A workout using light weights with an emphasis on strength, flexibility, and overall movement.
  • Build & Burn: Tuesdays at 6:40 p.m. A high-intensity interval training class combining strength, endurance and full-body movements.
  • Barre Break: Wednesdays at 1:15 p.m. A midday barre workout.
  • Morning Sculpt: Thursdays at 9:20 a.m. A morning workout that allows caregivers to bring younger children.
  • Sculpt & Stretch: Thursdays at 5 p.m. A low-impact class combining functional sculpting and stretching.
  • Healthy Hustle: Thursdays at 5:45 p.m. Another option for parents and caregivers to work out while young children play and socialize.
  • Barre 360: Fridays at 7:45 a.m. A low-impact, full-body barre class.
  • Build & Burn: Fridays at 8:45 a.m. A full-body workout incorporating elements of Pilates.

The program also includes a buy-one-get-one option for participants who take two eligible classes on the same day. Both classes count as a single Flex Pass visit.

Participants using that option should register for their primary class with their Flex Pass and list both classes they plan to attend in the registration notes, according to the department.

Those interested in trying the program without purchasing a pass can take advantage of the free demonstration week beginning Sept. 7.
