Canton Residents Create Petition to Save Satan's Kingdom

A local activist group has created a petition to save Satan’s Kingdom and they have submitted it to the Canton Town Planner.

The petition was created after residents learned of New Hartford’s approved plans to develop an industrial park at Satan’s Kingdom. The developer is requesting for the Town of Canton to change the zoning of the 30-acre wildlife preserve from residential to industrial.

The group says online, “There is no telling what kind of environmental damage and destruction these actions will bring to our town’s air, water, and wildlife, let alone the damage to our town’s very character. Say NO! to the proposed Industrial Park at Satan’s Kingdom! Protect the Farmington River. Protect the Ridge.”

A public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 17 from 7:30 p.m.-11:30 p.m. at Canton Jr-Sr High School auditorium, 76 Simonds Ave, Canton, CT.
