Canton’s Popular 'Music on Main' Concert Series Returns This Weekend

Canton's free Music on Main concert series will continue through the summer to early September.

CANTON, CT — Canton Main Street Inc. has announced the return of its annual "Music on Main" concert series, bringing free live music performances to downtown Collinsville throughout the summer.

The outdoor concert series will run Saturday evenings from May 23 through Sept. 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the municipal parking lot in the historic Collinsville section of Canton at 11 Front St.

This year’s opening concert on May 23 will feature Jr Krauss and the Shakes, followed by weekly performances from bands representing rock, jazz, blues, funk and other genres.

Scheduled acts include Out to Lunch Band on May 30, Silk City Jazz Band on July 11, CT Groove on Aug. 22, and Sally Terrell and the Green Jazz Band on Sept. 5.

Other featured performers this season include Driving Iris, The Tribulations, Moses Bone, and Cheryl T. and the LLC.

Organizers said the schedule may change and performances could be postponed or canceled because of inclement weather.

The Music on Main series is organized by Canton Main Street Inc. and Music on Main Collinsville as part of efforts to support community events and activities in the historic downtown district.
