•Kim Sullivan was named board secretary, unanimously.
While the votes came with little fanfare, the process toward filling vacancies did draw some criticism from two residents speaking during the audience of citizens.
Julia Lacroix and Aubrey Blatchley spoke during public comment about the recent board member appointment process.
Lacroix expressed “concern about the board of education vacancy process,” saying communication was inconsistent and “Republicans were listed as eligible … all Republican applicants and certain unaffiliated applicants were excluded before interviews began.”
Blatchley echoed concerns, asserting the process was “politically motivated” and noting that the district’s nonpartisan role should be upheld.
