Canton Schools Earns National Music Education Honor Once Again
Canton Public Schools earned the NAMM music education designation for the 16th year, citing strong K–12 community support.
CANTON, CT — Canton Public Schools has been named one of the nation’s Best Communities for Music Education for the 16th consecutive year by the NAMM Foundation.
The annual designation recognizes districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in providing music access and education to all students.
Canton Friends for the Arts attributed the recognition to sustained support for music programs across all grade levels.

“This designation is the result of the incredible support music receives from all groups here in Canton, K–12,” the organization said in a statement. “We have incredible students, supportive parents, committed teachers, and amazing leaders who all know that music is an essential part of a well-rounded education.”
The NAMM Foundation, a nonprofit funded by the National Association of Music Merchants, supports music education through philanthropic giving, public service programs, and research.
