Canton FD Is Having a Fire Sale
Revenue from the sales will be put back into the Canton Volunteer Fire Department's coffers.
CANTON, CT — If you're looking to purchase an ambulance and/or emergency vehicle tire rims, you might want to call the Canton Volunteer Fire/EMS Department.
The Canton Board of Selectmen Dec. 28 unanimously gave the department permission to sell those items to raise some revenue to aid fire department accounts.
The permission was required because Canton's charter mandates that selectmen approve and sales or donations of large-scale items within the town's purview.

In this case, the 2013 ambulance was becoming too costly to maintain and the rims, which were supposed to go to a CVFD utility vehicle, were never used.
The revenue from sales, likely to another fire department, will be put back into the fire department's EMS ambulance and apparatus accounts.
