Canton Summer Concert Series Returns This Week

Canton's free Summer Concert Series returns with weekly performances at Mills Pond Park through Aug. 13.

CANTON, CT — Canton's annual Summer Concert Series will return to Mills Pond Park on June 25, offering eight weeks of free live music throughout the summer.

Concerts will be held Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Mills Pond Park, 14 E. Hill Road, featuring a variety of musical styles ranging from country and swing to funk, soul, rock and blues.

The series opens June 25 with Southern Voice performing country hits and classics. Other scheduled acts include Stanley Street Big Band on July 2, All Funk'd Up on July 9, Mass-Conn-Fusion on July 16, The Bernadettes on July 25, The Loyales on July 30, Secret Lita on Aug. 6 and The Tradesmen on Aug. 13.

In addition to the concerts, Summer Fit Collective will offer pre-concert fitness classes beginning at 5:15 p.m. on concert nights through the Canton Community Center. Registration information is available through Canton Parks and Recreation.

The concert series is sponsored by several local businesses and organizations, including ShopRite of Canton, American Eagle Financial Credit Union, Bristol's Tree Service, Sullivan Automotive, Northwest Community Bank and the Canton Lions Club.

The free outdoor performances are a summer tradition in Canton and provide residents with an opportunity to gather for live entertainment in a community setting.
