Canton Valley Dental to participate in Give Kids A Smile(R) Day

Canton-On February 5th many children from local low-income families will receive free dental services ranging from cleanings, x-rays, fluoride treatments, sealants, fillings and extractions as part of national Give Kids A Smile® day.

Canton Valley Dental has contacted the local Farmington Valley School Systems, local churches, food banks, Gifts of Love and Social Services to ask their assistance in offering this service to the families that truly need the help. Canton Valley Dental specifically looks to help children, who may not otherwise see a dentist to receive the dental care they need.

Last year, the Connecticut State Dental Association participants alone provided $283,712 in free dental care to 2846 Connecticut children through Give Kids a Smile 2013, which was a dramatic increase from 2012. Each year, approximately 450,000 children benefit from more than 1500 events nationally, all because of the efforts of 40,000 or more annual volunteers.
