Canton Was Very Generous This Holiday Season

The Canton Senior & Social Services Department paid major kudos to the local community for helping many locally during the holidays.

CANTON, CT — The town's social services department recently thanked the local community for its role in helping locals during the recently completed holiday season.

According to the Town of Canton Senior and Social Services Department, the 2024 Holiday Giving Program aided a total of 51 Canton households, including 31 families, 20 grandparents, and 137 children.

"Your kindness has made a real difference in the lives of our neighbors and community members," wrote the department in an open letter to residents.

The program was highlighted by the "Gifts for Canton" campaign, which started Nov. 1 and continued to Dec. 5 last year.

Several collection points were set up around town, with local police and responders hosting collection efforts of toys and gift cards.
