Canton's FD Celebrating Massive Milestone This Year

CANTON, CT — January 2026 marks a significant milestone for the Town of Canton Fire & EMS Department as it marks 30 years of service to the Canton/Farmington Valley communities as the Town of Canton’s municipal fire and EMS department.

"Over the past three decades, our town has experienced growth and development — and so has your Fire & EMS Department," wrote the Town of Canton Fire & EMS Department in an announcement.

"From expanded services to a growing team of dedicated professionals, our mission has always remained the same: to protect, serve, and care for our community."

As it celebrates the 30th anniversary throughout the year, the department will be sharing stories from its history, highlighting past/present members, and looking ahead to the future.

It said its biggest goal for 2026 is to recruit 30 new members to support the continued growth of the Town of Canton Fire & EMS Department.

"If you’ve ever considered serving your community, there’s no better time," wrote the department.
