Canton's FD Recaps Its Storm Experience
Canton's volunteer firefighters actually stayed at the fire station during the snowstorm to ensure availability to respond.

CANTON, CT — Members of the Town of Canton Fire & EMS Department had an exhaustive couple of days dealing with emergency calls during the snowstorm.
Tuesday, the department offered up a brief roundup of their time during the storm, as well as reminding folks of what they can do in the winter to help firefighters help them.
"Our staff remained in quarters for the entire duration of the storm to ensure rapid response to emergencies. We appreciate everyone’s patience during the heavy snowfall," wrote the department.

With the sow came a reminder for all residents to check that heating utilities and exhaust vents are clear of snow and ice.
"Blocked vents can create serious safety hazards, including carbon monoxide buildup," wrote the fire department.

Meanwhile, the fire department offered thanks to local plow crews that kept fire stations clear of snow and assisted at emergency scenes.
"Your hard work and long hours worked do not go unnoticed," wrote the fire department.
