Canton's 4-Day Work Week: What You Need To Know
The Town of Canton has announced a trial, four-day work week for many town departments will start on Monday, Sept. 16.

CANTON, CT — Local officials have released more details about how its recently approved, four-day work week for many municipal employees will impact residents.
The four-day week — a pilot program that could become permanent — officially starts on Monday, Sept. 16.

For now, it will impact Canton Town Hall and the Canton Senior & Social Services Department, which will be adjusting its hours of operation to provide extended accessibility to the community.
The revised hours of operation for Canton Town Hall are as follows:

• Monday and Tuesday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Wednesday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Thursday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Friday: Closed
The Canton Senior & Social Services Department will be offering the following hours:
• Monday to Thursday: 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
• Friday: Closed
"During the four-month trial period, town administration will gather feedback from the community and employees to assess the impact of the extended hours and the four-day work week," wrote the Town of Canton.
