Canton Public Library continues its Sunday series of Family Story Time programs in March with “Woof! Arf! Bark!,” which celebrates dogs large and small, quiet and loud, well-behaved and not so. There will be doggy stories, woof-friendly songs, a short dog movie, a puppy craft, and animal guests. The program begins at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 4.
No doubt the highlight of the story time will be the two animal guests, Splash and Lynn. Splash is a Tibetan terrier pet therapy dog, certified through Allan’s Angels at Bolton Veterinary Hospital. Among the stories to be read are Bark, George by Jules Feiffer and selections from Dogku by Andrew Clements. Bark, George relates the tale of a dog who meows, quacks, oinks, and moos and his mother’s efforts at canine conformity. Dogku is a story, told in haiku, of a homeless dog named Mooch.
